When Sonia first started Diamond Services she was in Adelaide for a conference and we met for a coffee and while talking to her I realized I could use her services. We are an award winning international manufacturing jeweller with 3 stores in total based in Australia and overseas.
In 2010 we made the decision to changeover to SWIM software and was concerned about the time involved for the implementation of the program along with data conversion and staff training. Sonia lead the important project as Operations Manager and co-ordinated the install with the 3 Store Managers, Workshop Manager, Stock Controller and trained our entire team of staff. SWIM Support team were also on hand to enable a smooth transition for the business. The install of SWIM for the overseas store was implemented by using Skype training sessions after hours to ensure the smooth transition and also to test the systems between the stores. The sales team and head office team were trained quickly either via Skype or one on one sessions in addition to SWIM's online training.
Very quickly after install we were able to see improvements within the business and the communication especially in relation to the Stock and Customer databases, and Job Tracking between the 3 stores. All stores could view each other's SWIM in real time which enabled improved productivity and efficiency. Head office staff had more time to concentrate on other areas of the business which was really needed and sales staff had more time to focus on clients and sales. The Stocktake and audit process became much easier and the time involved to do a stocktake actually halved in time. Sonia made improvements to Stock Control procedures within SWIM and the 3 stores which then improved our overall stocktake results. Over time and with continued learning on SWIM our stock reporting systems also improved. Sonia's dedication to continue the learning and improve these procedures was highly appreciated and commended. She also performed regular audits on the system to ensure information was being entered correctly and efficiently. Any anomalies were handled quickly and any issues were addressed by Sonia in store or with assistance with SWIM support team.
Sonia started working for our company as our Stock Controller and Jewellery Valuer in the year 2000, (employed for 14 years in total) therefore understands the importance of data entry and efficiency within the team to ensure reporting is not only detailed but accurate. Over the last 10 years Sonia has been integral in the training of our Stock Controllers, Workshop Managers and Sales Staff. As a third generation jewellery business going through a lot of operational changes we engaged the services of Sonia Giggins.
